13rushes - Singaporean Cruelty Free Brushes | Review

If you haven't know already by the title already, today's talk will be on a brand that I discovered recently, 13rushes. Yes, it is a makeup brushes brand. Yaay!! We might not recognized it very well in Indonesia as it is Singapore base and I would say it's fairly new since it is founded in 2013. Despite of being new, this brand delivers a high quality cruelty-free brushes which is absolutely great.

On late January, I attended a makeup class by Bloom by Roseanne Tang. So, Roseanne is one of my favorite Youtuber and makeup artist from Singapore and I highly trust her review as she always being honest with her opinion. During the workshop, she mentioned that 13rushes is one of her holy grail brushes. And as 13rushes was sponsoring the workshop, a Starter Kit from the brand was included in the goodie bag which was completely awesome. There was four brushes included in the kit, 2 face brushes, 1 eye brush, and 1 lip brush. So here is a review on all the brushes that I got.

13rave - Powder & Foundation SGD26.00
This brush is the star of the set. I love how it feels so velvety smooth on the skin. As I mentioned in the last favorites post, the softness and density of this brush replicates the feel of a sponge or a powder puff and it feels amazing. Since it is a synthetic bristles (all of their brushes are), you can use it for applying foundation as well as powders. It gives a beautiful full coverage air-brushed looking skin. The angled shape of the brush makes it comfortable to reach to the corners of the face and it easily fills in difficult area such as the side of the nose, under the eyes, etc. Ever since I got it, 

Oval Blush - Blushes & Highlighter SGD 18.90
Next in the kit is another face brush. The size and tapered shape of this brush is just perfect to apply blush and highlight right on the cheek area. However the bristles is a little bit stiffer, so if you like a more precised application this will be your best friend. I personally prefer a soft and blurred out cheek color, so this is not my first choice to apply blushes. But this is very great to apply highlight on your cheekbone.

Angled Shadow - Eye Shadow SGD16.00
There's only 1 eye brushes included in the set, and it's an angled shadow brush. I always like this kind of brushes as it is very versatile. It's great to apply eyeshadow all over the eyelid, on the outer corner, on the browbone, etc. Basically this is all you need to create a perfect everyday look.

Soft Lip Perfector - Lip & Concealer SGD 14.90
Last one on the kit is a lip & concealer brush. It has a pointed tip which making it great for a detail application such as spot conceal and I love it since it gives a nice sharp edge when applying lipstick.

My overall thought is that the brand itself is something you should put into consideration. You should at least try them, you'll not regret it. They do put a lot of effort in choosing every material and brush. As for this kit, I am very impressed as it is put together very well. You can do the whole face only with this 4 brushes and that's incredible. This brush definitely not in the drugstore price range. The price is just right below Sigma brushes, just a couple bucks cheaper, and it's still affordable. Good thing is they ship worldwide.
