Back to Nature at Nusa Lembongan Island

2 weeks ago I went to Nusa Lembongan Island with some friends. It's an Island that's located just half an hour speed boat ride from Bali. We stayed there for 3 Days and 2 Nights.

I lived in Nusa Dua for 9 months and I've been to so many different parts of Bali. Having that experience, I can say that Lembongan is very different from Bali Island itself. It is still very raw and traditional. It's truly a gem, everything is so beautiful and natural. You will experience living in a village where people are very nice and welcoming. If you are a nature lover like me, be prepared to get mesmerized by the magical experience you will just about to encounter.

To reach Lembongan Island, you need to catch a fast boat from Sanur.  I suggest you to take the boat in the earliest time at 08:00 AM from Sanur and depart at least 16:30 PM so you can enjoy more of the island.

When I arrived there, the first thing that caught my attention is that there was no big road for cars to pass, so you have to rent a scooter if you want to explore the island. Most of the roads are sandy and narrow pathways circling the island like a puzzle which are interesting.

We stayed at The Sunjaya Bed & Breakfast which is located just 2 minutes walk from Mushroom Beach. It cost us IDR 750.000 for a room which fit for 4 person and it was including breakfast. The place was nice and clean and they also have a small pool. Since we arrived quite late and there was not much activity to be done in the evening, we just chill at the pool and then went out to enjoy our dinner at a restaurant in front of Mushroom Beach. We watched sunset while enjoying a glass of Bintang Beer.

The next day we booked a private trip to go to 3 snorkeling points and it cost us IDR 250.000/pax. Our original plan was to go to Manta Point and try our luck to see the Manta Ray and if lucky enough we can also see Mola Mola Fish, but since the weather was very bad, we just get to tired of the waves and we got seasick so we cancelled it and change to another place. We finally made our stop at Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay, and Mangrove Point. All three were very beautiful and has a crystal clear water. Unfortunately we didn't take any picture since we are soaking wet and no one has an underwater camera and basically we didn't want to ruin our mobile phone. So learning from experience, I bought one already for my next trip.. Hahaha...

The rest of our trip were just spent playing at the beach, working on our tan or  just chillin' at some beach club. I want to mention one beach club which is absolutely awesome. On our last day, we went to The Beach Club at Sandy Bay. The Club was nice and it has a small pool to dip and chill, food as far is the best one we tried in the island, served mostly western food. The Sandy Bay beach was nice and clean, sand is white and soft.

The most interesting part of the beach club is just right on the left, you get a nice view of a cliff with a waterblow and you can reach there just by walking along the cliff. So there we are at Devil's Tear the famous waterblow point in Nusa Lembongan, unfortunately we reached there when the tide is low so the waterblow was not so big. But we get to see lots of natural pool forming just right at it and the best part was we did actually went down there, have a dip at the cold water while get doused by the waterblow a couple of times just for the sake of taking lots and lots a picture.. :p Not to mention the Chinese tourist who was looking at us weirdly from the other part of the cliff. :p

Nusa Lembongan is definitely a paradise. If you are planning to visit Indonesia or Bali, this place should be in your bucket list. When I went back to Surabaya, I promised myself that I will be back there very soon and finish exploring the whole Island. I still need to do cliff jumping at Blue Lagoon, Nusa Ceningan and snorkeling at Manta Point, and many other fun stuff. I just can't wait to be back and be mesmerized again and again and again...
